Unfortunately, Eli Garcia is no longer a member of MIDGARD due to scheduling conflicts. There is no ill will between us and Eli, and we wish him the best in his future endeavors.

Finally, the new MIDGARD album, tentatively named “Satellite”, is proceeding apace. It is promising to be an absolute beast – melodic, heavy, atmospheric and much, much more! Some of the new song titles are (in no particular order):

·        Satellite

·        Until the Sirens Call

(9/24/2011): We are happy to announce the current lineup of MIDGARD! Joining Alex Shalenko (Vocals/Guitar) are Eli Garcia (Guitar) and Ryan Willis (Drums). We are still looking for a bass player to complete the lineup, but the work is proceeding apace on the first MIDGARD album since 2004's "Ignite the Shattered Sky" EP. Watch this space for new album updates, song titles and eventually new music

(8/15/2011): The good news is that the new MIDGARD lineup is almost complete! Unfortunately, we are still looking for a bass player, as our previous bass player was unable to continue with the band due to scheduling conflicts.

Therefore, MIDGARD needs a bass player able to practice once a week at our Castle Rock practice space. Must have his or her own gear and transportation, good stage presence and positive attitude. If interested, shoot us an e-mail at midgardmetal@yahoo.com!

(7/14/2011): "Within the Darkness" 10 Year anniversary!

Yesterday was the ten year anniversary of MIDGARD's debut EP, "Within the Darkness". In honor of the occasion, we have made the closing track from that record, "Sky Falls Down", available for free download at the "Media" page on this site. Go and check it out!

(6/15/2011): MIDGARD is looking for members.

The reactivated Colorado melodic death metal band MIDGARD is looking for a drummer and a guitarist to join the ranks. The drummer must be capable of playing fast and aggressive material, with some blast beats, while being able to maintain groove for more melodic parts. The guitarist must have good lead guitar skills with appreciation for both melody and aggression.

Successful candidates should be between 21 and 40, able to practice at least once or twice a week in Denver metro area, with no serious alcohol or drug issues and with their own equipment and transportation. Some experience in the studio and playing live is a plus.

We are serious about the music but also have families and full-time careers, and would like to have fun with this band while making great music. Our goal is to make a great album and to play some shows, not to go on full-scale tours or to make a living from music. If this sounds like a kind of band you might be interested in, e-mail us at midgardmetal@yahoo.com.

With the unique sound that draws on melodic death, doom, and power metal, MIDGARD released two EPs and a web single to some acclaim between 2001 and 2005 before dissolving due to personal and scheduling differences. The band performed numerous shows culminating with the performance at Milwaukee Metalfest in 2002, while Brave Words & Bloody Knuckles magazine featured the track "Failure of Utopia" on its Knuckletracks compilation alongside such artists as DIO and MANOWAR.
